Am I Ready For A Shoot?

Just jump in! Often, women tell me they would love to do a shoot, but they first want to lose weight or they don't have the courage to have their picture taken right now, but one day will. The time to celebrate yourself is now, just as you are!

You don't need to lose those 10 pounds or wait until you feel super strong to do a shoot. Boudoir photography is intimate and requires vulnerability. It is generally out of most people's comfort zones. But I promise you, we will have fun and you will feel the empowerment! Reaching outside of your comfort zone is one of the keys to growth. Fear is normal - we will work through it together and you will emerge stronger and more confident than ever.

Where Will My Boudoir Photo Shoot Take Place?

Photo shoots take place at our boudoir studio, your home, hotels, Airbnb’s or other locations at your request. For the purpose of making this a unique and personal experience, the choice is yours.

Discussing the location and setting is part of the Pre-Planning process. I will assist in conceptualizing and seeking out a location if you choose. As this is your personal event, I ensure safety and comfort as the basis for which we work together.

While I am based in New York, I travel for clients and am currently organizing events in California as well as other locations upon request.

But I Don't Look Like A Model, And Have Never Posed Before...

Don't be nervous! If you are reading this, chances are you've already decided to take the plunge into a Boudoir experience or are close to it.

I have worked with many women (and men) over the last number of years in various styles and situations. All walks of life, all types of shapes and sizes. The decision to partake in a shoot results in the choice to see yourself as others do, and to appreciate yourself. Everyone has walked away with the look they've sought captured in amazing photographs, and have offered testimonials as an example of their experiences.

Many begin without posing knowledge, and virtually nobody understands that this is an emotional and thought-provoking experience full of feeling and expression. It's all about telling your story where we are capturing you in your own moment. You're hiring me to help you get to that point; to enable you to look and feel your best in a moment. Together through planning, conversation and collaboration you will be thrilled with the results. For you, I guarantee a safe environment where you can relax and enjoy the fun of an experience. With posing, expression, lighting and direction, you will walk away loving your intimate portraits.

Will My Photos Appear On The Internet?

This is a choice for you to make if I approached you about using your images for my website and / or Social Media. Every client would be presented with an image usage agreement to act as written permission if you are willing to let me use the photograph(s). While I do enjoy providing other potential customers an idea on the experience, client privacy and discretion is always observed as that is a priority to me.

Will You Edit Imperfections?

This is part of our planning discussion; both before and during the session. While I can edit out most common issues, it's my style to capture the real you. I believe in showing someone's essence as they are rather than portraying you in an unnatural manner. I have worked extremely hard on studying light, shadow, posing and favorable angles, so that is the way I approach helping you look most flattering. Post-production is a tool I use to perfect the finishing touches.

Can I Bring A Friend?

This is a hard YES. I encourage this for a number of reasons. First and foremost, creating a 'safe place' is the most important thing to me for clients during our session. Additionally, a friend can be there for moral support and to help style, adjust wardrobe, hair, etc.

Inquire with me for specials on booking with friends.

You’re A Male Boudoir Photographer…?

Let's address the obvious here - some women are unsure about a male boudoir photographer, while some actually prefer them. This is a personal choice. I do guarantee a safe, comfortable, professional experience laden with fun. And the end result will be photographs that you, or you and your partner, will enjoy. The benefits to teaming up with a male boudoir photographer are numerous:

  1. Women are viewed differently by men and women, respectively. There is a different 'lens' that reflect mentality, goals, what is perceived as sexy, among other reasons.

  2. If these photos are a gift for a loved one, a male perspective may help in terms of preferences and likes.

  3. It is sometimes easier for a woman to express herself in a sexy, sensual way to a male than a female.

  4. There is a perception that a client and their spouse will feel more comfortable and less threatened by the presence of a female photographer than a male photographer. However, I am extremely focused on the task at hand - composition, lighting, posing, emotion and the holistic experience.

  5. I find this most important... Working with a photographer who will enable you to feel your very best, at ease, feel sexy and help you feel your most expressive. This results in the best chance at telling YOUR story, rather than the photographer’s. We are here to help guide... we are not the story.

Guiding The Concept

I am here to help you conceptualize the theme, style and wardrobe of your shoot. Let this be YOUR story, your creation. Intimate Loop Boudoir is not here as a cookie-cutter photographer with a template in mind. The creative process begins once the session is booked, and there is dialog through to the day of the session. The end game is a compilation of photographs that you are thrilled with.

Ordering…

You decide what you’d like to order once the shoot is complete and we get together to review your gallery of images. There, we discuss package options. It takes roughly two weeks to finalize the images. As I near completion of your personalized look and feel of the session, we will plan out a reveal of the photographs.
